How does lightning work?

So lighting is electricity, which is made out of tiny particles. Some particles have a positive charge and some have a negative charge. If there is a big storm, it would pull the negative and positive charges away from each other. Then they would pull back together like magnets and make lighting. But how would the charges connect from the clouds to the ground? Well I will tell you how. The negative particles go from the clouds towards the ground and that is called a Stepped leader. Mean while positive charges are moving from the ground connecting up to the negative charges, this is call an upward leader. When they connect it makes a lighting strike from a tall building (Most likly would be a tall builder) all the way to the lighting cloud. So overall lighting is made from negative Cloud particles are connected to positive ground particles.

Shortland Street's 25th Birthday

So room 21 had to do a piece of writing called PIE writing standing for Persuade Inform Entertain. I guess it took me quite a while but I think it's good and shows 2 aspects from PIE, they are Inform and Entertain. I hope you like it, it's about shortland street in the past years, Here is my PIE writing for Shortland Street's 25th birthday.

You know that dramatic T.V series? Yes that one… SHORTLAND STREET. It is has just had it’s 25th birthday. So anyway I’m going to be going through the past of shortland street with you guys reading, obviously.

The First Season

Well, wasn’t the first season different. Different people, different hospital, different drama. People from episode one like Marj, Nick and Waverly were in the dramatic episode of 2017. I don’t think people were expecting them to be in it.

Also, there was a person from the first episode that wanted to come back this year. But after she left on the first episode they made it as she died so she is never to be seen on Shortland street again.

Overall, it was a totally different type of season. I’m so glad that things have changed. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in the future. Let’s hope 3 things: It get’s better, Ali doesn’t die and Mason NEVER comes back.

Mid Series

2004, the celebration of the 3000th episode! I don’t have much to say about the middle of the series nor do I know much about it but here are the highlights!

Dominic Thompson’s return marked his reign of terror, as he frames Dr. Victor Kahu for Geoff Greenlaw's murder; murdered his PA, Avril Lucich by drowning her in a bathtub.

Shortland street screens a one hour episode, featuring the marriage of Tama Hudson and Shannon Te Ngaru.

Shortland Street 2015 - 2017

Wow, 2015 was a bang. First Wendy died (Sadly). Second, Victoria shot drew and third… EVERYTHING. I loved it, it was full of drama. Something/Someone that I hated was Pania for stealing tille and almost killing tillie with with her. Luckily that didn’t happen.

Another great year of shortland street was 2016. The whole Victoria drama. I loved how harper confronted her with sass, it was so cool. Something also bad was that Victoria sent Curtis to jail so that suck for Eister, his family and the audience.

And lastly 2017…  It was the most annoyingest year ever. I hate mason and luckily he went to jail otherwise he would’ve killed Sarah. The dramatic episode where Mt Ferndale erupted was crazy! Some of the things that happened on the 25th anniversary episode are: Mason tries to take Sarah overseas and away from her family, Lucy had her baby, Nick, Waverly, Marj and Lionel came back to shortland street, Chris found out he had Cancer and the most saddest thing ever… LUCY DIED!!!

Her dying was so sad. Ali was devastated, it was like he froze. He hated the baby because she kinda killed Lucy but now he loved Lulu. Still though, he isn’t doing very well.

That was my PIE writing for Shortland Street's 25th birthday, there was a few things I missed about the years of shortland street like Sarah dying of the disease, Rachelle smoking and leaving, TK killing Hayden, Lucy's dad getting exploded, Stuff about Roimata, Curtis's mum getting framed and more but it wouldn't fit in well with the story. Today in Electronics I have been working on my torch. The things that I have done today are glueing the photo on corflute, drilling holes to put the LED lights in, placing the copper tape on and putting the LED lights in the holes. Here are some photos of what it looks like.

Netball

This term winter sports have started. There are quite a lot of sports like: Winter hockey, football, Canoe polo, rugby and NETBALL! Winter is my favourite season because netball starts. I have been playing netball for 6 years and this is my 7th. The positions that I like playing are GA (Goal attack), GD (Goal Defence) and the positions that I normally play are GK (Goal keep), GS (Goal shoot) and GD. I'm in the HNI Eagles and we are currently doing our grading games. In our first game we won 12-1 and in our second game we won 12 or 13 nil.

What I've Done At HNI 2017

This is my first blog post at HNI for 2017! I'm going to tell you somethings that I have done this year. 

Something that I have really enjoyed this year is going to Te Matatini with the Kapa Haka group! If you don't know what Te Matatini is, it is basically a Kapa Haka festival that is on every two years. Here is a video explaining what it is and a video of a performance

This is just an introduction of what it is like, I love the music by the way. You guys should so go the next time a Matatini is on because they are so worth the money, they even have inflatable stuff and photo booths.

It was really fun and something that I learned from Te Matatini to improve my Kapa Haka is to smile lots, be very passionate and all act like one to show the best performance. Here is the show!
